Prepaid Plan
Texas offers two Orion-managed 529 savings plans that are available to residents of any state. The direct-sold Texas College Savings Plan and the advisor-sold Lonestar 529 Plan offer investments from a diverse selection of firms. The state also offers the Texas Tuition Promise Fund, a prepaid plan that provides state residents with an opportunity to prepay tuition and fees at Texas public institutions.
"Do-it-yourself" type plans in which the saver enrolls and sets up the initial investment. Fortunately most 529 plans make this simple! You'll pay no sales charges beyond fund and administrative fees.

ABLE Plan
The Texas Achieving a Better Life Experience (Texas ABLE) Program was established to encourage and assist individuals with disabilities and their families in saving funds to pay for many disability-related expenses critical to maintaining the individuals' health, independence, and quality of life. The Texas ABLE Program is established and maintained by the Texas Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board with assistance from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
